Marianne de Visser is professor in neurology at the University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
She has authored more than 300 publications on various neuromuscular disorders. Her group identified the first mutations causing Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease and Bethlem myopathy and caused a paradigm shift in the classification of myositis. Professor de Visser was an Elected Trustee at the World Federation of Neurology, was Vice-President of the European Federation of Neurology and is now Treasurer of the European Academy of Neurology.
