Tiina Rekand (Российско-Норвежский семинар)
Tiina Rekand graduated from the University of Tartu, Estonia, as a doctor, in 1985, after which she specialized in neurology. In the university and after graduation her research focused on stroke and cerebrovascular diseases. Moving to Norway in 1990, since 1994 she has been working at Haukeland University Hospital in Bergen. She defended PhD in 2003 at the University of Bergen on molecular pathways and clinical consequences of poliomyelitis. Since 2003 her clinical work as well as research has been focused on spinal cord injuries, but also management of chronic neuropathic pain, consequences of stroke and multiple sclerosis. T. Rekand has published 50 scientific works in international peer-reviewed journals and has contributed to several chapters in medical textbooks. She has participated in several congress scientific committees and has lectured over 50 educational activities in recent years.
